Environmental Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Vivid Cuisine Ltd is a small business and we are realistic about what that means when it comes to environmental responsibility. We do not make claims we cannot support. What we can do is be thoughtful about the decisions we make and honest about where we are in that process.
Product Curation
One of the most direct ways we can reduce environmental impact is through what we choose to stock and promote. We lean towards producers and makers who demonstrate care in how their products are made — whether that is in the sourcing of ingredients, the materials used, or the way production is managed. Artisan and small-batch producers, which make up a significant part of what we carry, tend by nature to operate at a more considered scale than mass-market alternatives.
We do not list products simply because they are available. Curation is part of how we operate, and environmental and ethical considerations are part of that curation process, alongside quality and relevance to our customers.
Packaging & Dispatch
We are mindful of packaging waste. Where we control how products are packaged for dispatch, we aim to use the minimum necessary to protect the item in transit, and to avoid single-use plastic where a practical alternative exists. We acknowledge this is an area of ongoing improvement rather than a solved problem.
Digital Operations
As a primarily digital business, a meaningful part of our footprint sits in the energy consumed by the platforms and services we use. We are aware of this and factor it into decisions about the tools and providers we work with where we have the ability to do so.
Artisan & Local Sourcing
Our developing Devon marketplace focus — curating food producers, artists and makers from the local region — is in part an environmental position as well as a commercial one. Shorter supply chains, locally produced goods and working directly with makers reduces the transport and intermediary footprint associated with what we sell. This is a direction we intend to build on.
Our Position
We are not a certified sustainable business and we do not claim to be. We are a small company making incremental decisions in the right direction — on what we stock, how we ship, who we work with, and how we communicate. We think honesty about that is more useful than language that overstates where we are.
If you have questions about our environmental approach or want to raise something specific, we welcome the conversation.
