Tredinnick Farm Shop sits at Widegates on the outskirts of Looe, a farm shop and tea room combined rather than one or the other. The shelves run to locally produced meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, wholefoods, beer, wine and spirits, and homemade pies, alongside more practical stock like coal, gas and logs for anyone living nearby rather than just passing through on holiday.
The tea room side does a proper Cornish cream tea as well as a full cooked breakfast and hearty lunches, making it as much a stop for a sit-down meal as a shop for the week's groceries. It opens seven days a week - 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sundays - and has built a loyal following among locals for the warmth of the welcome as much as the range on the shelves. It is the kind of farm shop that works equally well as a fifteen-minute grocery stop or a slower breakfast on the way to the coast.
