Tavistock Refillery

Zero wasteRefillGroceryHyper local

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Tavistock Refillery is run as a not-for-profit community interest company, formed by seven regulars of The Jar, the town's previous zero-waste shop, after it closed in February. They raised over £10,000 from more than a hundred local supporters to reopen on Market Street, and the shop now runs mostly on volunteer labour with one part-time member of staff, kept deliberately low-cost so the model can stay community-led rather than commercial.

The shop sells ethically sourced dry goods and household essentials with no plastic packaging, and doubles as an education hub on sustainable living - people can shop, volunteer, or support the refillery with a regular donation. The shop holds a 5-star food hygiene rating.
