Behind most fish counters there's no way of knowing which boat brought it in, or what the seabed looked like afterwards. This Plymouth collective exists to close that gap. Small-scale fishers working out of the harbour, each one named, with their vessels and methods laid out for anyone who cares to look. There's a manifesto too, setting out exactly what they promise about how fish is caught and sold.
The commitment is to fish and shellfish caught with as little damage to the marine environment as possible, supporting the livelihoods of small-scale fishers and their communities. Low impact means little or no discarded or immature fish, modest fuel use and limited disturbance to the seabed. Orders now go through Wylde, the online farmers' market, with deliveries on Fridays and Saturdays and no need to hit a minimum on fish alone.
