Hobbs Chocolates started as a home-based venture in Plymouth, built up by chocolatier Andy Hobbs, who turned a personal love of artisan chocolate into a proper business with his wife Helen at his side. It's grown from that kitchen-table beginning into an award-winning brand that now exports as far as the USA, while still being run as a genuine family operation from The Cottage on Tavistock Road in Roborough, on the edge of Plymouth.

The range runs from truffles and chocolate liqueurs to bars and bespoke box selections, all handmade, with single-origin dark chocolate among the specialities. Boxes come in 12 and 16-piece sizes, built to order and tailored to individual tastes rather than sold as one fixed assortment, alongside newer additions like a Dubai-style chocolate bar. Wedding chocolates are a particular specialism, made to match a couple's colours and theme rather than picked off a shelf.
