Nanny Wendy's Fudge Kitchen

Small batchFudge

Food hygiene rating pending

Fudge is one of those things Cornwall does a lot of, and most of it is fine. This Bude kitchen has gone further, taking two Gold and one Silver at the Taste of the West awards, with Gold for both Sea Salt and Lemon Meringue and Silver for Salted Caramel. It is a family run operation working in small batches, sourcing locally wherever possible, and hand-making every slab rather than buying in.

The range runs to fourteen flavours of crumbly dairy fudge, from the traditional Cornish Clotted Cream, Vanilla and Butterscotch through to Cherry Bakewell, Pina Colada, Biscoff and Raspberry and White Chocolate. There is a vegan fudge too, at seven pounds. Boxes are built to order: pick three slabs, or go up to a five slab box at twenty five pounds. Start with the Sea Salt and see what the fuss is about.
