Food hygiene rating pending

What began at a family farm shop grew into something rather more substantial when the family moved to Foxcombe Farm and set up a bakery in the farmhouse, later replaced by a purpose-built one. The setting is rural West Devon, near Okehampton, and the people behind it are unusually serious about the countryside they work in: plastic free packaging and a broader eco-friendly approach are not afterthoughts here but part of how the operation runs.

Handmade cakes, bakes and biscuits are the business, including gluten free options, and a Taste of the West award along the way suggests the judges agreed. They supply convenience stores, garages, garden centres and tourist attractions across the region, so you may well have eaten one without knowing it. Selection boxes go out by post and work well as staff or client gifts. Call ahead to discuss requirements and get your bake scheduled in.
