The Lime Tree

Cullompton's town centre has a cafe lounge that takes the word local rather literally. The coffee comes from a roaster four miles up the road, the breakfast meat from an award winning butcher 300 yards away, and the eggs from nearby farms. It is a newer arrival, set up as somewhere to sit a while over coffee and cake rather than eat and run, with a menu broad enough to keep most tables happy.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea run from 8.30am to 3pm, with coffee and cake carrying on until 4pm. Cooked breakfasts are made fresh to order, from a full English to open toast, with daily specials on the board. Lunch covers toasted sandwiches and homemade meatballs. The cake range is unusually wide for the area - layered cakes, tray bakes, slices and loaves, with a good number of vegan and gluten free options. Ask the staff what is out.
