Andy and Pam keep Middle Whites on Exmoor, a heritage British breed first recognised in 1852 and once nicknamed the London Porker for its popularity in the capital. Disillusioned with mass-produced supermarket meat, they set up Little Oak Farm to bring slow-reared farming back, breeding and finishing their pigs outdoors on a non-intensive system. The farm is registered with the British Pig Association as an approved producer, and the pork has won awards.
Everything goes direct from the farm: half-pigs, and pork boxes sized for two, for a family, or as a taster. Bacon is dry cured, with back and streaky, smoked and unsmoked, in six-slice packs. There is a sausage selection box where you pick your own flavours and save 25p a pack. Order online for fresh delivery if you want to talk through a half-pig before committing.
