Bossington Hall

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

A rare Arts and Crafts hall above the Vale of Porlock, run personally by Guy and Annie, with eight acres of gardens rolling out towards the Bristol Channel. It is adults-only and unhurried by design: a water garden with secluded corners, a meadow to wander, and views that explain why binoculars sit by the bedroom windows. Named South West B&B of the Year 2024, and inside Exmoor National Park proper.

Nine individually designed bedrooms, six en-suite and three with private bathrooms across the corridor, from £135 for the Longpool Room, with deep roll top baths and award-winning breakfasts. There are tennis and squash courts, a private sauna for after the coastal trails, and a 24-hour guest larder and honesty bar for a local cider at midnight. Book direct for the best rate and easier date changes; longer stays carry £100 off four nights, £150 off five.
