Extreme Chocolate

Extreme Chocolate, based on Union Street in Torquay, rebranded from its old name Awesome Brownies into something that better matches the product - oversized, dense brownies made in small batches rather than a wider bakery range. It's a family-run operation, and the pitch has stayed consistent through the name change: do one thing and do it properly.

The brownies use real Belgian chocolate rather than cocoa powder, and the range has grown to more than forty flavours, from Chocolate Orange and Cookie Oreo to Peanut Butter and a white-chocolate Glamorous Blonde, alongside custom boxes and traybakes for gifting. The brownies won a Taste of the West Gold Award in 2023. The business sources locally where it can, keeps wastage low and packages everything in fully recyclable materials - the ethics side gets as much attention as the size of the brownies themselves. Delivery runs UK-wide alongside the Torquay base.
