Pronounced Corn-eco, and Italian for Cornish, the name sets out the ambition neatly enough. Andrew Tobin started the company in 2009 on the back of more than twenty years in the tea and coffee trade, and has since been joined by his wife Donna and their daughters Briony and Kathryn. The roastery sits at Higher Trevibban, out near Padstow, and remains a genuinely small family operation with a serious interest in the detail.
Beans are ethically sourced, selected for quality and hand roasted on site in their own roaster. Packaging is biodegradable or compostable, part of a wider effort to keep waste and carbon down across the business. Alongside the coffee they supply espresso machines and equipment to coffee shops, hotels and restaurants across Cornwall and further afield. Worth a call or an email if you run a place that needs a local roaster and the kit to go with it.
