Washingpool Farm Shop

Three miles from West Bay, on the B3162 heading towards Salway Ash, eighty acres run down to lakes, a stream and the river Brit. John, Joyce and Noel Eveleigh arrived in the 1970s to grow fruit and vegetables, selling at the farm gate for ten years, then from a Bridport high street shop, then back at the farm from August 2000. Three generations of the Holland family now live and work here.

The free-draining sand belt soil can be worked most of the year, which means potatoes, salad crops, soft fruit, cabbages, beans, squashes and roots, plus grass for the pedigree Red Devon herd and pigs. The shop sells their own beef, pork, lamb, eggs, vegetables and flowers alongside ready meals, soups and cakes, with ciders, cheeses, pies and bread from over a hundred local suppliers.
