Flower Bakery

Basia learned to bake at home in Poland, alongside a mother who baked daily for the family. After moving to the UK in 2016 she worked at Leakers Bakery in Bridport, sharpening her skills and starting to write her own recipes. Everything now comes out of her home kitchen in Hooke, in the Dorset countryside, and reaches people through local markets and doorstep delivery rather than a shopfront.

Cookies and cakes are the headline, with bespoke celebration cakes made to whatever theme you have in mind - worth asking, and customers report she has rescued more than one last-minute occasion. The savoury side deserves equal billing: focaccia with a crisp crust and light, airy crumb, plus flaky cheese twists in a range of flavours. Those are the catch: they are not on the online store, so track down a market date.
