Tyepyedong

AsianNoodlesRestaurant

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Tyepyedong sits on Sidwell Street in Exeter, a family-run noodle bar built on more than twenty years in the catering trade, much of it spent cooking Chinese food professionally before the owners branched out into a wider oriental fusion menu. The name translates loosely as "a place to eat without the fuss," and the food follows that brief - big bowls of noodles served three ways, in broth as a soup, stir-fried, or boiled and piled with toppings, alongside a range of rice dishes.

Everything is cooked fresh to order, and the kitchen will adjust spice levels or swap ingredients on request rather than working from a fixed script. No MSG or artificial additives go into the food, and suppliers are chosen for GM-free ingredients. Vegan and vegetarian diners are well catered for, with meat-free options built into the core menu rather than added as an afterthought. It's a genuinely casual spot - counter ordering, quick turnaround, generous portions at low prices - and it does takeaway and delivery through Deliveroo and Uber Eats as well as sit-down dining.
