Arrietty

CafeRestaurant

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Arrietty opened on Longbrook Street in 2017, built by the family behind Harry's Restaurant, and combines specialty coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters with a flower stall, baked goods and a small dining menu under one roof - an unusual pairing that works because real kitchen experience sits behind the food rather than it being an afterthought to the coffee. The tiramisu has its own following among regulars, and there's a cellar wine list for anyone staying past the coffee.

It runs as much as a community space as a cafe, hosting regular events and workshops, and works with nearby growers for the flowers rather than importing them in. The room itself is bright and spacious with a calm, unhurried feel, and gluten-free options are available across the menu. It's open Tuesday to Saturday, closed Monday and Sunday.
