An ornate Moroccan and Lebanese restaurant and shisha bar at Cathedral Yard, right opposite Exeter Cathedral, with tiled tables, low lighting and a menu that runs to over a hundred dishes. Mezze is the way in - hot and cold plates meant for sharing, heavy on colour and spice - and the kitchen covers halal, vegan and vegetarian options throughout.
Desserts lean traditional: baklava, mhallableyh rice pudding with rose water, and a plate of miniature Moroccan pastries with pistachios. To drink there's aniseed-based arak, Casablanca lager, Moroccan coffee spiced with cardamom, and mint, cinnamon or rose tea, alongside a full cocktail list. Shisha service and outdoor seating on the Cathedral Green make it a slower, sit-and-linger kind of place rather than a quick dinner stop.
