The Undergrad

The Undergrad sits in Unit 7 of The Depot off Bampfylde Street, a short walk from Exeter Central - a cafe through the day that shifts into a bar in the evening rather than simply closing its doors. It's one of South West Coffee Co's three Exeter sites, so the coffee is the same carefully sourced stuff they supply to cafes and businesses across Devon and Cornwall.

The bacon pancake stack is the order regulars come back for by day, and by evening the cocktail list runs to a Passionfruit Martini and a Moscow Mule alongside the usual pub drinks. Cakes and artwork from Exeter makers fill the walls - the group makes a point of backing local creatives rather than generic decor - and the welcome stays friendly and unfussy whichever end of the day you turn up.
