The (Tiny) Tasting Room sits down an alleyway off Martins Lane in Exeter, the kind of spot that feeds high street shoppers through to the cathedral green without most people knowing it's there. It's part of the South West Coffee Company alongside the original Tasting Room on Topsham Road and The Undergrad, and despite the name it's a coffee room rather than a wine bar - light lunches, cakes and pastries, with an upstairs seating area filled with greenery that gives it a homely, tucked-away feel.
The menu runs to toasties, pasties, breakfast, soups and daily specials, and vegan options are taken seriously rather than added as an afterthought - an acai bowl, porridge, and a spinach and beetroot sourdough pizza with vegan cheese all feature, alongside vegan cakes and milk alternatives. It's open Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm and weekends 9am to 3.30pm, small enough that the name undersells how much it packs in.
