The Saracens Head is a two-bar community pub on Fairfield Terrace in the centre of Newton Abbot, built in 1864 and recently refurbished. The lounge bar has carpeted seating with an upholstered window seat, while the public bar has a raised area used as a stage for live music, a jukebox, pool table and dartboard, plus a patio out the back with bench tables, some under a heated canopy.
It runs karaoke every Saturday night from 8.30pm and free live music regularly, alongside pub teams and the usual bar snacks. The beer list stays fairly settled rather than constantly rotating, built around regulars like Dartmoor Jail Ale, and the pub trades on being a proper community local in the town centre rather than a food-led destination.
