The Railway Inn

PubPool Table

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

The Railway Inn dates back to 1633, making it one of the oldest pubs in Dawlish, and sits on Beach Street just a short walk from the seafront, the railway station and the bus stops. It's a proper community local rather than a food-led gastropub - pool, darts and euchre get played, there's entertainment on Sunday afternoons, and both children and dogs are welcome at the bar.

Lunchtime meals are served alongside the usual range of beers and wines, and the pub also has three guest rooms - one double, one twin and one single - for anyone wanting to stay over rather than just drink and go. Wheelchair access is available and there's sports on the TV for match days. With a 4.1-star rating from around 190 Google reviews, it's held its place as a dependable, unpretentious local rather than a destination pub.
