The Lansdowne

Regulars just call it the Lanny. The Lansdowne on Park Road is Dawlish's biggest pub by some distance - three separate bars, a pool room and a sundeck on top, with six screens between them for football and Sky Sports coverage. It's the kind of place built for a crowd rather than a quiet pint, and it draws one most nights of the week.

Food is freshly cooked and locally sourced rather than the standard pub-chain freezer job, and happy hour runs Monday to Friday, 5 to 8pm, with selected draught pints down to £3.20. Live music, quiz nights and darts fill out the calendar, and the pub stays open late - past midnight most nights, through to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Dogs and families are both welcome, and the sun terrace at the top is the spot to aim for once the weather cooperates.
