The Bagel Shop - Sidmouth

The Bagel Shop opened in Sidmouth in 2020, tucked down Cross Lane between Fore Street and Old Fore Street, and went on to win Taste of the West Champion in 2024. The core of the menu is freshly filled bagels, alongside morning granola pots, fresh pastries and beach boxes for anyone heading to the seafront, with a full range of vegan and gluten-free options rather than a single token substitute.

Coffee runs on Lavazza, and the sun-filled courtyard has become as much a draw as the food, open year-round with later hours on Fridays and Saturdays when the menu extends to pizza bagels alongside craft beer, cider and wine. It's open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 4pm and closed Sundays, and dogs are welcome - a small, independently run spot that's built its name on doing a simple format properly rather than trying to be a full restaurant.
