Sundays

Sundays is a small cafe on The Quay in Exeter, built around bagels, coffee and cakes for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Boston Bagel and the iced coffee are the pairing regulars keep coming back for, and the wider menu covers bacon and other filled bagels, indulgent cakes and chocolate-based puddings, hot chocolate and a proper coffee list rather than an afterthought drinks menu.

It's a relaxed, pared-back space with outdoor seating on the quay that welcomes dogs, and it takes card payments and does takeaway alongside sitting in. Prices stay low, typically under £8 a head, which keeps it as an easy, frequent stop rather than a destination meal - the kind of cafe locals build a habit around because it's on the quay, does a handful of things well, and doesn't try to be more than that.
