Suki Cafe sits on Waterbeer Street in Exeter, a five-minute walk from the cathedral, and mixes European cafe habits with Japanese ones - the name comes from the Japanese word suki, meaning fondness or a liking for something. Organic speciality coffee is the anchor of the menu, alongside whisked matcha teas and a matcha soft serve line that runs from simple cones to more elaborate dessert cups made with high-grade Japanese matcha.
The food side centres on a signature mini patisserie - handmade manolitos and palmitas in fusion flavours that mix European pastry technique with Japanese ingredients and flavour profiles - plus bocadillos and sharing boxes built for gifting or splitting between friends. It is open seven days, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm, Saturday from 9am and Sunday 9am to 4pm, and the whole concept is built around slowing down over coffee and pastry rather than grabbing something on the move.
