Sprout

Sprout is a small plant-based cafe in Cathedral Yard, directly opposite the Cathedral, serving fresh food and drink that is as good for you as it is for the planet. It is entirely vegan, and small enough to feel like a find rather than a chain.

Salads and quiches are the mainstay, with Portuguese custard tarts to follow, and there are Sunday specials and occasional afternoon teas announced through their Sprout Digest newsletter before they go up anywhere else. Open Wednesday to Saturday. One thing worth knowing first: they are unable to cater for gluten or soy allergies, though anything else can usually be worked around if you tell them before booking.
