Portal Pizza

PizzaNeapolitanBrewery

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Portal Pizza started as a lockdown idea in April 2021 and has grown into one of Exeter's go-to pizza spots, now running three sites across the city - a converted launderette on Magdalen Road, a stall inside Topsham Brewery on Haven Road, and a spot at Exeter Central station. The pizzas are Neapolitan and New York-inspired, hand-stretched and made with locally sourced ingredients, with a rotating core menu alongside seasonal specials like the popular 'Porco Rosso'.

All three locations work on a call-and-collect basis with no reservations, and hours vary by site - Exeter Central keeps the longest day, open from 8am to 10pm, while Magdalen Road and Topsham run more of an evening service. The vibe across all of them is deliberately low-key: good pizza, cold drinks, and no fuss, which has built a loyal Exeter following since the early lockdown days.
