In 2003 Helen and her family took on a farm in West Dorset near the Jurassic Coast, and set about putting the land right. That meant replanting an old orchard with 24 varieties of fruit tree. By 2009 they were pressing their own apples and selling the juice to local artisan shops. The aperitif came later, in 2024, built on the same heritage fruit from Dorset and Somerset orchards rather than anything bought in.
The result is a blended apple aperitif at 12% ABV, made in season from traditional bittersweet orchard apples and matured for smoothness. It pours a deep blush, smells strongly of apple, and balances sweet fruit against a proper line of acidity. Drink it neat, over ice, or lengthened in a spritz. Bottles are available online with UK-wide delivery, and it is worth starting with it over ice before you begin mixing.
