Orchard Drinks

Food hygiene rating pending

Working out of Newton Abbot, this is a small operation built around what grows nearby: local orchards for the fruit, foraged bits and pieces for everything else. The result is drinks with a clear sense of where they come from, rather than a recipe that could have been made anywhere. It is a narrow focus, deliberately so, and the range reflects that discipline rather than any urge to cover every base.

The line-up runs to cider, sparkling wine and apple brandy, all locally produced. If you only try one thing, make it the apple brandy - it is the least expected of the three and the clearest signal of what they are about. Worth seeking out if you want South West fruit in the glass rather than a label that merely gestures at the region.
