Two geese and five turkeys, reared for Christmas by Paul some 23 years ago, are where this one starts. The company itself has traded since 2016, run by a family of five (Paul's Mum included) on the outskirts of Widecombe in the Moor, in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Both sides come from Dartmoor farming families, and Paul's grandparents reared Christmas poultry generations back, so the venture is really a restarting rather than a beginning.
Christmas turkeys and geese are the heart of it, priced at similar levels so the choice comes down to what you actually want on the table rather than what you can justify. Alongside the birds they farm a small number of beef and dairy cattle and sheep. They eat their own stock at Christmas, unless Paul sells it first, which has happened. Look up their price lists and portion suggestions before you commit to a size.
