Old Picture House

SeafoodRestaurant

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

The Old Picture House on Harbour Road in Seaton, fifty metres from the seafront, was previously known as Winstons before a refurbishment brought back its history as a cinema. The main body of the old picture house is now a bar with its own high ceilings and a wall of old movie-star photographs, so the building's past is still very much on show rather than covered over.

It runs as a bar, restaurant, events and weddings venue, with six self-catering apartments upstairs for anyone staying over. The kitchen serves grill house favourites and classic British dishes, with vegan, gluten-free and children's menus covered too. Dogs are welcome downstairs in the main bar and on the terrace, and the ground floor has easy wheelchair and pushchair access with baby-changing facilities, which makes it one of the more accessible venues on this stretch of the East Devon coast.
