Perched right in front of the beach at Lyme Regis, this little cafe bar has recently undergone what its owners cheerfully call extreme cosmetic surgery. The pull is obvious enough: huge glass doors that slide open when the sun appears, letting the sea breeze in, and views straight out over the world famous Jurassic Coast. Monmouth Beach Car Park is the nearest place to leave the car, which puts you a short walk from the water.

Food runs all day, sunrise to sundown, with daily specials chalked up inside rather than pinned to a fixed menu. There is takeaway too: order, then wander down to the seafront to collect. Friday nights from 7pm bring live music, with acts listed as they are confirmed. Book ahead in high summer, though a few tables are held back for walk-ins, and they will squeeze you in at the bar if you are easy about it.
