How On Earth Vegan Deli

How On Earth was Devon's first vegan deli, started by Heidi Howarth on South Street in 2017 as a home business before it grew into a permanent shopfront. Heidi decided she didn't want to eat meat at eleven years old, and the deli that grew out of that decision is now run with her daughter Chloe, plus the rest of the family - her partner Dan makes the sandwiches and wraps, and their son Ben handles the finances.

Everything on the counter is 100 per cent plant based and made or sourced locally: plant-based versions of deli classics done properly - southern fried chicken, BLTs, wafer-thin ham, salami, an American-style Reuben - alongside artisan cheeses, cold cuts, quiches, wraps, cakes and condiments. Bring your own container and they'll fill it rather than reach for another one. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.
