Herbies has been feeding Exeter's vegetarians and vegans from the same spot on North Street since 1990, making it one of the longer-running independent restaurants in the city. It's a small, family-run room with a cozy, unpretentious feel and generous portions - home-style cooking rather than anything fussy.

The chef's curry and the roast vegetable and houmous ciabatta are long-standing favourites, and a specials board changes regularly to bring in seasonal ingredients and flavours from further afield.
