Fordmore Farm Shop

On the Honiton road just outside Cullompton, this is a farm shop that has kept adding to itself: an in-house butcher, a cheese and deli counter, fruit and veg, bakery goods, dairy and dry goods, wine and fizz, gifts and local art, with a fish shop next door handling the freshest catches. There are animals on site and a playpark, which explains why the car park fills with families rather than passing trade alone.

Stock leans local and seasonal, from West Country produce to chutneys and jams, and there are meat, veg and cook-at-home roast boxes to order for shop or car-park collection, plus hampers and online ordering. The cafe does breakfast, brunch, lunch, cakes and coffee, Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 4pm and Sunday from 9.30am. Worth knowing: hot food stops at 3pm, so come earlier if lunch is the point of the trip.
