Dinosaur Cafe

The Dinosaur was founded in 2000 and has been serving Turkish Mediterranean food on New North Road ever since - long enough to have become the sort of place people bring visitors to. All the food is home cooked.

Mezze is the way in, with the halloumi and the falafel starter both worth ordering, the Dinosaur salad arriving as a medley of many mini salads, and baklava to finish. The restaurant is fully licensed, with Turkish and French wines alongside Exeter Brewery ales and Somerset ciders, and it caters for all dietary requirements and is genuinely vegetarian friendly. Event catering is available - though note they don't answer calls outside opening hours.
