Devon Cove Vodka

Vodka

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Vodka made from King Edward potatoes grown on the family farm above Hope Cove: that is the whole proposition, and it is a more grounded one than most spirits brands manage. The crop comes off the land, the spirit follows, and the shop and tasting room sits a few miles inland at 28a Fore Street in Kingsbridge, where you can taste before you commit rather than guess from a label.

Alongside the potato vodka there are liqueurs, rum and a new limoncello, plus cocktail kits built around Espresso Martini, Hazelnut Espresso Martini, Moscow Mule, French Martini and Cosmopolitan, some boxed up with chocolate or nibbles. Miniature gift sets and a corporate gifting service cover the harder-to-buy-for. Go into the Fore Street shop and work through the range properly before deciding which bottle goes home with you.
