The Shed

SandwichesSoup

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

The Shed is a sandwich bar tucked into Shutterton Industrial Estate on the edge of Dawlish, not far from Dawlish Warren beach and the nature reserve - an unglamorous spot that trades on doing simple food well rather than on its setting. It's a weekday operation, open early from 7.30am through to mid-afternoon and closed at weekends, built around the breakfast and lunch trade from the trading estate and passing traffic rather than tourists.

Everything is made to order: sandwiches, paninis, baguettes and wraps with a solid list of fillings, bacon and sausage among them, plus jacket potatoes and salads for anyone after something lighter. Coffee is properly made rather than an afterthought, and there's a full hot and cold drinks list alongside it. It's takeaway-focused and wheelchair accessible, with reviewers consistently picking out the panini and the friendliness of the staff rather than anything flashy - a straightforward local sandwich bar doing the basics reliably.
