Australian brunch culture doesn't obviously belong in Plymouth, but the Stander family made the case in 2019 and have since built two sites around it. Influences come from Sydney and Melbourne cafe culture, filtered through fresh, seasonal local produce and suppliers from the South West who share their thinking on good food. A small on-site artisan bakery followed, driven by a straightforward conviction that real bread makes everything around it better.
Expect all-day brunch cooked from scratch with flavours drawn from multicultural cuisines, smashed avo and pancake stacks among them, alongside artisan bakes and speciality coffee. Gluten-free options are there if you ask. Mutley Plain at 51 is now an open-plan takeaway bakery and deli, open seven days, 0800 to 1400; Mayflower Street runs 0830 to 1600 with the bakery closing at 15:30. Special occasion orders are collection only from Mutley, from midday.
