The Beach Pub

PubBurgers

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

The Beach Pub sits right on Exmouth's seafront by the marina, close enough to the sand that its name isn't a stretch. It's a traditional pub inside - beamed ceilings, a proper bar - with outdoor seating built for the view and a relaxed, family and dog-friendly atmosphere that leans into live music on busier nights.

The menu runs from burgers and fish and chips through to full Sunday roasts and a decent run of seafood dishes using fish and shellfish sourced locally, which makes sense given the location. Four real ales plus at least one real cider keep the bar side properly stocked rather than an afterthought to the food. Upstairs, La Mar - an award-winning restaurant with views over the marina - operates as a step up from the pub menu below, for anyone wanting a slightly more polished meal without leaving the building. Between the two, it covers most of what a seafront visit calls for: a pint and chips downstairs, or a proper sit-down meal with a view upstairs, and it's consistently one of the better-reviewed places to eat in Exmouth.
