Temple Bar

BarCocktails

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Temple Bar sits inside the Sea Dog Art Gallery on Exmouth High Street, so the cocktail bar and the gallery share one quirky, art-filled room rather than being separate spaces. The team pour bespoke cocktails made to order, keep a run of locally crafted beers, and put together a wine list alongside them, with a knowledgeable owner on hand who's happy to talk through what's in the glass rather than just pour it.

It's dog-friendly and has gender-neutral toilets, and the atmosphere leans casual and cosy rather than a big night-out bar - somewhere to settle in for a couple of drinks surrounded by the gallery's art rather than pass through. Temple Bar also hosts regular free entertainment nights, drawing a mixed crowd of regulars and visitors passing through the town. It's open Wednesday to Sunday from 5.15pm until late, so it's an evening spot rather than an afternoon one.
