Radway Inn

The Radway Inn sits half a mile out from Sidmouth town centre on Radway Place, in a building that started life around 1800 as three cottages before being knocked through into one pub in 1894. It has stayed a proper locals' local ever since - no food, just well-kept beer, wine and spirits, with two real ales on all the time (Bass and Sharp's Doom Bar) plus a guest ale that rotates every couple of months.

There's a pool table and a dartboard, with teams playing in both the local leagues, and sport shown in HD across four screens including one out in the courtyard. Karaoke runs on the first Friday of the month from 9pm, an open mic night takes over on the last Sunday from 8.30pm, and live music turns up occasionally too. Families are welcome and so are well-behaved dogs, which fits the pub's low-key, unpretentious feel - it's a place people go to drink and talk rather than to eat.
