Quince Honey Farm

Established in 1949 just outside South Molton, this is a working honey farm now run by the third generation of the same beekeeping family. That means the bees come first and the visiting comes second, which is rather the point: you are walking through a real production site rather than a themed one. Nectar Gardens, nature trails and sculptures sit alongside the honey factory itself, with millions of bees at close quarters.

The Education Team runs daily beekeeping demonstrations and will open up a hive in front of you, and there are behind-the-scenes looks at the honey production areas. For anyone wanting more, the Beekeeping Introduction Course and An Hour with the Bees go further. Indoor soft play in the Hive keeps younger visitors busy. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome everywhere but the Hive, with water bowls and free treats about. Book ahead to skip the queues; regulars should look at membership.
