Crema the Crop is an independent coffee roastery based in Axminster, founded by Gary, who introduced espresso-based coffee to Lyme Regis some twenty years ago before setting up the roastery itself. It roasts 100% arabica beans in small batches, ethically sourced, and supplies cafes both locally and further afield across the UK, alongside selling direct through the shop and online with beans shipped out by post.
The range runs to house blends like Golden Hour and Gondwana alongside single-origin beans such as Peruvian and Indian Monsoon Malabar, so there's a proper choice between a consistent everyday blend and something more distinctive from a single farm or region. In 2024 the business took over The Creperie in Lyme Regis, giving it a second site where Crema the Crop coffee is served alongside sweet crepes and savoury galettes. Beyond roasting and retail, they sell and rent commercial espresso machines and grinders to other cafes, and run small barista courses capped at three people at a time, which points to a business built as much around training other coffee people as selling bags of beans.
