Cortona Gelato Lab

Seaton faces the sea on the Jurassic Coast, and the gelato sold on Fore Street is made in a lab on the same premises. That is the whole proposition: an independent lab and parlour churning every batch itself, with milk from a farm at Axminster delivered fresh. Creative flavours sit alongside Italian classics, and the list keeps changing, so what is in the cabinet one week may not be there the next.
Gelato is not ice cream: more milk than cream, churned slowly so less air goes in, and served slightly warmer, which is why the flavour lands more directly. Coffee is Jingle Beans, roasted by The Coffee Factory in Devon, and there is a Mediterranean garden to drink it in. Find them at 17 Fore Street, open seven days, 11am to 7pm, and from 2pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
