Vault 53 Rum

Copper pot stills, small batches, and rum made from first principles in Devon - that is the whole proposition here, and it is a rarer one than you might think. Plenty of brands buy in spirit and put their name on the bottle. Vault 53 distils its own, by hand, and talks openly about heritage and process rather than hiding behind a label. The distillery doubles as a bar, available to hire for events.

The range runs from a Prickly Pear and Pink Grapefruit rum to a Chocolate and Coconut, both in 50cl, alongside limited editions such as the Plymouth Albion spiced rum. They describe their Devon spirits as award-winning, and the flavoured bottlings are the obvious way in if you want to understand what the pot still is doing. Worth checking what limited releases are current before you buy, since they come and go.
