PizzaCafeRestaurant

Food hygiene rating: 5 out of 5

Standing guard over the crossing of many roads at Mullacott, this has long been a rest stop for travellers, holiday-makers and locals heading between Ilfracombe, Lee and Braunton. The lineage goes back to late April 1949, when a Mr W. T. Knill opened the Mullacott Cross Filling Station and Cafe on the site. What sits there now folds bar, restaurant and cafe into one, which is a rarer trick than it sounds.

The newly refurbished restaurant covers a wide range, with pizza, burgers and tacos the dishes they are happiest to be known for, and Sunday roasts go on from 12pm and run until they are gone. There are plenty of tables, but booking ahead through OpenTable is the sensible move. Worth noting the high top tables come with bar stool seating, so ask for something else if you have under fives or less able bodied guests.
