The Copper Kettle has been on Station Road in Bovey Tracey, on the edge of Dartmoor, since 1910, originally serving passengers from the town's railway station before it closed. It now combines a licensed tearoom and restaurant with a small bed and breakfast offering en-suite rooms, set around a warm, cosy dining room with a private car park and a large garden for outdoor seating.
The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and main meals through the day alongside a traditional afternoon tea, with homemade cakes and scones served with generous cream and jam. The Sunday lunch has a strong local reputation, regularly named among the best in Bovey Tracey, and the cream tea draws people in on its own. It is open year-round rather than seasonally, making it a reliable stop whatever the weather on Dartmoor.
