Bovey Tracey's Old Pottery buildings have been home to a marble and games maker since the founder started building board games in his workshops in 1973, selling them at local craft fairs. What grew from that is a site you can spend a morning in without spending anything: free parking, free entry, glass blowing to watch, museums to walk round and workshops to sign up for. The restaurant sits in the middle of it all.
The Old Pottery restaurant is fully licensed and puts its weight behind freshly prepared food. Around it are hundreds of glass and toy marbles, board games, puzzles, classic toys and decorative pieces for house and garden, plus higher value collectors' glass in pebbles and shapes. There's an online shop for UK and international delivery, and a wholesale side for trade. Come with children and allow longer than you planned.
