Teign Bean @ The Beach

Teign Bean launched in January 2019 as an independent takeaway coffee spot on the Eastcliff Walk in Teignmouth, run by the Grost family - Si, Becca, Sebastian and Macy-Rose - as a genuinely home-grown business rather than a franchise. It sits just steps from the beach, with outdoor seating including a sheltered section for the days the weather does not cooperate, and has built a following among dog walkers and families who want a stop before or after the sand.

The coffee is Rainforest Alliance certified, and the menu runs to speciality teas, a range of cold drinks, and homemade cakes and tray bakes alongside locally sourced bacon, sausages and eggs for the savoury side. Reviewers consistently rate the barista setup and the lattes in particular, though a few note that service can slow down and certain items run out at busy times - a fair trade-off, on the whole, for a small independent operation right on the beach path rather than a chain with the buffer stock to match.
